Faith Over Fear: God’s Peace in Times of War But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed . (Isaiah 53:5) On December 7, war again erupted along the Cambodia–Thailand border—this time on a wider scale, affecting six provinces and displacing half a million people, many of them children. The conflict has now stretched into its second week, bringing fear, loss, and uncertainty across the nation. At the evacuation center, children were attending online classes using a single phone placed on the ground. I spent time with them, helping them process their emotions and praying with them. One girl broke down in tears, sharing that she no longer had a home to return to.  On December 10, I welcomed ten Filipino evacuees from Poipet into my home. They shared how God protected them as bombs exploded just 10 kilometers from their houses, sha...

PRAYER UPDATE: Thailand–Cambodia Border Clashes (December 8-10, 2025)   Photos by a friend on Facebook Family fleeing from war on their "Kuyon" (tractor). Dear partners in prayer, We ask you to join us in lifting Thailand and Cambodia before the Lord as recent clashes along the northwest border have directly impacted several provinces, including Poipet, Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, and Pursat. The intensified conflict has brought fear, displacement, and uncertainty to many families. Tensions continue to rise in various areas, placing additional strain on communities already burdened by economic challenges and previous instability. This evening, I welcomed ten Filipino missionaries and teachers who were evacuated from Poipet—the largest border crossing between Cambodia and Thailand.  The couple missionaries are setting up their tents in my living area, and the singles are staying in the bedroom. Meanwhile, the church members from Poipet are staying at a church he...

Season of Sowing “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9 Coaching the teachers and teaching the children in our church’s Sunday School is another opportunity and responsibility to plant seeds of love, and hope. Singim, Noch, and Essa are our Sunday School teachers. While spending time with these teachers, I also teach the children alongside them. Each month, we take turns leading and teaching the children. The Kids Sunday School presented their report at church, recited their memory verse, and performed a short skit. Our Sunday School children are a mix of believers and unbelievers. It’s encouraging to see their excitement as they attend, learning Bible stories, memorizing Scripture, and enjoying crafts and fun activities. The seed may be small, but God gives the growth. The WABC Young Adults are also growing—not only in their faith but in their service. During our monthly fellow...

Turning Fear into Triumph God transforms our greatest fears into stepping stones of victory. Danoch and Li were married during the border conflict. It was a simple, traditional wedding, yet the journey to that day was not easy for either family. By the grace of God, the ceremony was carried through. Dara and I upheld them in prayer throughout the process. As the eldest in her family, Dara carried a vital role in helping make crucial decisions. With her school only a kilometer from the border where conflict is still going on, she endured exhausting two-and-a-half-hour rides back and forth on her motorcycle. Yet even in the midst of work, family responsibilities, and the border tensions, God’s grace sustained her. Danoch & Li's Wedding Dara and family Danoch and me. At WABC, the church has been gathering more earnestly in prayer. Many Cambodians are deeply afraid—the clashes at the border in late July rekindled painful memories of the past. The trauma of years ago left sca...
