Merry Christmas!

1 Corinthians 10:13
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
She started helping her mother cleaning at school at the age of 12, where she had started to study the Bible and now she is 20. Time flies so fast. She thrived ever since because of the mercy and grace of the Lord Jesus. Dara Dou went through difficult times but her tenacity to pursue God as the source of life has been progressing throughout these years. Cutting grasses for cows, collecting empty plastic battles at school, selling biscuits on the streets, and cleaning houses were just several part-time jobs she experienced just to finish high school. She had passed the university scholarship program and has been studying at the government university in Tourism for three years now. However, this did not stop her to seek more opportunities. I remember my life back then when I was in high school and college. Please allow me to share a glimpse of my past here. God had sustained me by his grace to graduate with honors though coming to school with fish scales on arms and legs; at times stinky and no one wants to sit beside me because of my “smell.” Selling fish under the heat of the sun and had been a sales agent of several micro businesses until I graduated. God’s grace and His goodness are so amazing. Finding a job was not a concern after I graduated in college at the age of 19. Thus, this encourages Dara in acquiring education not only for her and family but for the Lord. Her mother, Sraeaym, encouraged Dara to take the National board entrance examinations for teachers. She knows that this is another privilege to widen her education and the possibility to get a good job in the future. At first, I don’t agree on this as she is on her year three at the University of Battambang (UBB). Students are allowed to study two courses at the same time as long as the schedule won’t clash. Juggling all of these are seems too much, however, God is faithful and what matter is, Dara knows her priority and that is to do it for the glory of God. So, Dara took the teachers examination together with 1,120 examinees in the province. Six passed, with 10 reserved students and Dara is one of the six who passed the test and is now a scholar for the next two years as a government teacher. Praise the Lord! The whole family with the church are rejoicing for the huge achievement that the Lord has blessed Dara with. Dara needs part-time jobs to provide for some university needs and family but neither as grasscutter nor as an empty plastic battles collector but as an English teacher, book sales agent and a temporary NGO field worker. How did Dara thrive? How did she juggle these things? The answer is obvious—God. Her testimony in the family encourages her siblings to seek God and her neighbors too; parents are sending their kids to our Sunday school ministry at Dara’s compound. God is still actively working in saving and leading people for His glory and honor. Indeed, glory is His.
