Ministry is meaningful, but it is challenging especially during this pandemic. Nevertheless, as God provided the opportunity, His work will continue to thrive according to His will and purpose. Leakhena is spiritually growing and a good young leader. Mentoring Leakhena every week to walk steadfastly in God’s truth has produced good results. She looks after the welfare of the 28 young girls at Marlene’s Home where she is a manager. These girls are high school and university students and all are studying online for more than a year now. They are restricted to go out of the compound. God spoke to Leakhena’s heart to find ways, so they will still be productive inside the home as the majority is getting bored with long hours of online classes. And one is to provide a different creative activity that would help them grounded in God’s Word. So, she asked for help. By the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit, the girls learned their identity in Christ, using Bible passages, video clips, visual illustrations, who am I games, individual, and group activities as part of the lesson and application. All were delighted and encouraged knowing that their worth is not on their family background, or on what they do and can be accomplished in life, but is solely life in Jesus Christ where they are chosen, adopted, redeemed, forgiven, unconditionally loved, and graciously accepted. Essa, one of the girls, was in tears and embraced me after the session. She showed to me her reflection notes. As the eldest child, she struggled because of her family’s condition. Her father’s mental problem occurred again because the proper medication was not applied. Essa’s mother is pregnant and soon about to give birth this month of September. I was asked to be a godmother. Essa’s youngest sibling is 16 years old, so 16 years of the age gap between this soon-to-be-born baby. Praise God that Essa’s father now is back to his normal mental health condition. Essa was my English student, and she is grateful to God for His sustaining grace. God is touching lives in a very personal and intimate way. Essa’s parents were my Bible School students at CSM before. They are close to my heart. I first visited their house in a far distant village in 2010 when Essa was just a kid. Actually, Essa’s family sometimes gave me 10 kg of their harvested rice on the farm as their offering to God. Now, looking back, God has used the pain and depression of Leakhena last year (in the previous newsletter), so she can understand and be of help to these girls in seeking and knowing God personally. Currently, Leakhena is training Essa with the office work that she does in running the home. Glory is all belong to God.

extension, my visa should be renewed before October 2, next month. I

record through the General Department of Immigration (GDI). The head officer
scrutinized me with so many questions and was strict. I sent my passport to
Phnom Penh immediately through a courier, but it was not delivered as expected.
It took 5 days for EFC personnel to receive it from the courier. God is in control.
