Grateful 2022 & Faithful @2023
Thaibodia 2022
Happy New Year! May you have a
blessed New Year full of joy, hope, service, and love!
God is worthy of our praise, thanksgiving, and
service for He is always good and faithful.
Praise & Thanksgiving:
I am so thankful for
the grace of God.
1.) BSOP Thaibodia field council and 20th
anniversary last year went great.
2.) Christmas evangelistic celebrations to
villages, CTC, and Shine center was of success.
3.) Mii Oun’s salvation. PTL!
4.) Sopheak passed the Grade 12 National
Examinations (After failing last year); MA Graduation of Leakhena & Panha, and Bachelor's Degree Graduation of Makara and Sreynoch.
5.) God’s grace and strength, Physical healing.
Traveling outside Cambodia for the BSOP Field Council meeting renewed me physically, and also emotionally. The fellowship with colleagues in the field blessed my heart with joy. I am grateful to God for His promises, grace, and mercy. Reporting and ministry planning became more encouraging as I listened to everyone with a grateful heart. BSOP 20th anniversary’s theme, “Grateful and Faithful @20” was another opportunity for us to reflect, rejoice, and renew our commitment to our Abba Father. Thank you so much for your faithful partnership throughout these years in what the Lord is doing here in missions.
December 17, Cambodia Teacher’s Community (CTC) Christmas fellowship at Green Mango restaurant. We had a nice time evaluating, thanksgiving, praying, and having breakfast fellowship. Four of us were only available that day as it was a busy week for all teachers due to the Grade 12 National Examinations. Fabbiene, from Pannastra School, Vanarath from LOHI and Green Mango manager (Pastor Sophin’s wife at WABC), Singim from LOHI kindergarten head teacher were present, together with the two children of Vanarath, Sophia and Katara.
December 18, a village Christmas celebration at
Nika’s house. There were more than 100 children and 50+ adults
joined in the celebration. YWAM ministry gave 100 school bags to the children
and we at Shine shared gifts with adults, Nika’s family, and relatives who were
present. Three of our youth from Shine, Daneth, Lyna, and Sopheak rendered a
Christmas dance number. Grabbing the opportunity to share the true message of
Christmas is the most essential highlight of the event.
December 23, at Bora’s school’s Christmas, went great! Students and some parents were able to hear the great message of joy in Luke 2. Bora, the principal, and founder of this school are not a believer yet. She asked for our help at Shine. So, last November, Singim and I decorated her new classroom with some visual aids I bought from Bangkok but the rest were prepared by me and Singim. We are establishing a relationship with Bora, hoping that she would open herself up for a Bible study. Bora was happy while listening to the true message of Christmas. Of course, the students also were in so much fun with the games and receiving goodies.
December 25, Christmas at Shine. Praise the Lord for another opportunity to celebrate Christmas at Shine with joy. Jenny, a BSOP colleague missionary was the speaker. She shared powerfully the true message of Christmas from Luke 2. Twenty-seven people joined in the celebration, 4 are unbelievers, Mariya, Saohue, Rit, and Phirom; 8 contacts promised to come but missed it. It was encouraging to witness what the Lord is doing in the life of young believers at Shine's intentional discipleship ministry. They took part in the preparations especially, Singim, a true disciple of Christ Jesus, a dear daughter in the Lord. Sreyleak boldly shared her testimony of faith in God, and how the Lord transformed her life. She bought also a small Christmas tree for Shine. I normally make a personalized Christmas tree, but due to my health condition, I was not able to make one. And it was Mii Oun’s first time Christmas celebration after receiving Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord. Glory is all His.
The Holy Spirit was at work again! Praise the Lord! Mii Oun was planning to stop studying Bible last
November after straight two months of study. She thought that she didn’t need
anybody in her life. She has a trust issue after her broken marriage. As a
businesswoman, she used to have an independent life. For her, Jesus Christ is
not real. Before she messaged me about quitting Bible class, she had a
motorcycle accident that injured her body. She was in pain and couldn’t walk
for more than 3 weeks. With swollen face, arms, and feet, she couldn’t make a
call or message me, but Leakhena informed me of the accident. So, I contacted
her and prayed for her. She promised to resume the Bible class after I came
back from Thaibodia. However, she couldn’t really walk well yet. So, she dared
God in her heart that if He is real, in three days she should be able to walk,
but in two days she was able to walk normally. Thus, Mii Oun was so excited
about studying that day, sharing all that had happened to her, and yet she was
not sure if she will believe and trust Jesus in her life 100%. We prayed and
continue to ask for God’s mercy and enlightenment. The following week, Mii Oun,
finally surrendered her life to Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! She joined our Sunday
Cell Church once and was able to join the Shine Christmas celebration with joy
in her heart which is evident in her words and actions. She is faithful more and excited about
attending our Bible Study. Glory to God alone.
Prayer & Supplication:
1.) Good health. I went to the hospital for check-ups
end of 2022 due to my right arm and elbow pain that bothered my movement and
sleep. I had X-rays and a blood check-up. All is well. I just recently finished
the 10 days of medication. No more pain in my right arm and elbow. PTL!
2.) Shine Intentional Discipleship ministry.
3.) Home assignment on March 18, 2023
4.) Nika and Gideon’s wedding is on January 21 here
in Cambodia.
5.) Spiritual growth of Mii Oun.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us
the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ
