Hope Lives On

Christmas Beyond December

Following the truce declared on December 27, 2025, we were blessed with opportunities to bring Christ’s hope to various communities this January. The past year was undeniably challenging, yet it became a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness, strengthening our trust in His promises.

In partnership with CGI, we were able to distribute essential supplies to more than 80 families living near the border in early January. Many of these families reside just one kilometer—or even less—from the border area. Along with providing practical support, we also shared the Word of God, encouraged them in faith, and lifted them up in prayer.

Oum, now in her 90s, shares a powerful testimony of how the Lord Jesus saved her from death. She remains deeply grateful to Jesus Christ and steadfast in her faith. Hearing her story of faith is truly inspiring and encouraging.

After distributing essential supplies to the community, the pastor of the church invited several soldiers guarding the border. It was a rare and meaningful opportunity for us to listen to their stories, pray with them, and even visit their barracks and share a quick message of God’s hope and encouragement. The soldiers were glad to feel cared for, also.

In Pheak Sbech village, the local leaders and families warmly received the message of peace and salvation through the birth of Jesus Christ. The joy of children singing and celebrating Christmas reflected healing and relief after months of fear and uncertainty.

At CGI Battambang, students and staff were reminded that despite disruptions and hardships, our living hope remains secure in Christ. As I shared His Word on our Christmas celebration, last year tested many lives, yet God’s sustaining grace continues to lead us forward.

The WABC and SHINE discipleship ministries also held Christmas celebrations at LOHI. Through worship, Word, dances, and Scripture presentations, many young people participated with great enthusiasm. We rejoice that ten youth accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. Please pray for their spiritual growth and faithful follow-up.

The CGI Alumni Homecoming on January 27 was another encouraging milestone. It was a privilege to reconnect with former culinary training students alongside CGI leaders. The gathering provided a valuable opportunity to encourage alumni to continue shining for Christ, even amid ongoing uncertainties along the border.

It was a beautiful evening filled with encouragement and meaningful fellowship. Serving together with Vannarath and Singim on this occasion became another opportunity to guide them into purposeful service—bringing glory to God.

By God’s grace, the SHINE intentional discipleship ministry continues. As the year began, I met individually with disciples while also taking time for personal rest and renewal. The Lord graciously restored my physical strength and refreshed my vision to continue serving with renewed hope. Praise God for His sustaining power.

Prayer Requests:

1.      Spiritual growth and strong discipleship for the ten new believers.

2.      Preparations for upcoming ministry opportunities this February:

o    CGI Friday Worship

o    SHINE Cell Love Month Celebration

o    WABC Sunday Worship (February 22)

3.      Complete healing for my facial skin condition, lesions. I have an ongoing treatment, swelling, and pain subsided; I have a follow-up online check-up next week.

4.      Continued peace between Thailand and Cambodia, lasting resolution at the border, provision for displaced families, and hearts of forgiveness and compassion among leaders on both sides.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 (ESV)
