Faith Through the Seasons

Season of Planting (Beginning).
Sowing seeds of love and hope across various ministry areas has been a privilege, especially in these challenging times. After three months of rest due to border conflicts, God continues to move in the field. Three young neighbors—Leap, Kenna, and their cousin Kaka—joined our cell group and heard the message of Christ’s unconditional love. A new batch of CTC students from different villages is also learning about God through Values Education at the Center for Global Impact. In addition, the wedding of Essa and Somphor became a powerful testimony of Christ’s grace, love, and power to their families and community. Their union in a Christian marriage, uncommon in a Buddhist setting, is truly a blessing.

The washing of feet symbolizes humility and a mutual submission to God and to one another as husband and wife.

Season of Growth (Development).
Spiritual growth is evident among those we disciple. Sana, a new believer from our Christmas outreach, joined our cell group, along with others who are studying the book of John. Mie Oun and Toch have advanced to another Bible study and are becoming more intentional in their quiet time with God. Their discipline and commitment are reflected in their journals and in their growing faith and service.

Season of Waiting (Trusting God).
This season has brought deep trials. Leakhena and Phirun have endured multiple losses within a short time, causing emotional and professional strain. Despite their grief, they continue to trust in the Lord. Even in sorrow, I witness their quiet strength and perseverance. God remains faithful and sovereign through it all.

Before Leakhena’s father’s cremation, this reflects a common practice in Cambodia where the body is cremated either outside the home or within the pagoda (wat).

Season of Harvest (Fruitfulness).
God allowed us to witness a powerful moment of salvation. During a visit to Kanhchany’s grandmother, Phai, we prayed for her healing. Before leaving, I felt led to share the Gospel. At 76, she received Christ as her Lord and Savior with joy. Remarkably, she stood and walked on her own afterward. This moment affirmed God’s power and the importance of obedience to the Holy Spirit. Though we encountered a minor incident on our way home, God’s protection was evident. All glory belongs to Him.

A photo of joy after Grandma Phai made a decision to believe in Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord for the harvest!

Women’s International Day was celebrated through prayer and commitment, reflecting on the lives of faithful women in the Bible.

Season of Pruning (Refinement).
Through hardships, God continues to refine me. Health challenges, emotional strain from ministry, and unexpected incidents—such as a gas stove explosion—have tested my faith. Yet, in every situation, God has shown His protection, provision, and presence. These experiences deepen my trust and dependence on Him.

I could have been seriously injured by the sharp nails while standing nearby baking, but I had stepped into the living room at that moment, and then suddenly heard the explosion from the kitchen.

Season of Rest (Renewal).
God has graciously provided a time of rest and renewal. I will spend two weeks with my family in the Philippines during the Khmer New Year, made possible by relatives who gifted my travel. I also look forward to a medical check-up in Cebu. This season is a reminder of God’s goodness and care.

Encouraging the church to keep pressing forward in faith through every season of life, trusting that God is sovereign and in control.

Prayer Requests:

  • Safe and smooth travels, good health, and a successful medical appointment
  • A new batch of CGI CTC students is showing openness to the Gospel of Jesus.
  • Peace in the Middle East, and that hearts would turn to God’s will and purpose

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

Indeed, God is present and purposeful in every season of life.
