Dumnanglaorkampuchea goodnewscambodia Christmas is fast approaching, Cambodians are receptive to the message it brings! Praise the Lord! I am surprise! More Christmas decors are hanging in the stores, Christmas trees are displayed in different establishments whether public or private. Manger scenes are set outside hotels as part of their creative displays. Well lighted streets & trees… this is the moment that we have to seize! Modern technology has a significant effect in the life of Buddhist people here in Cambodia. They have fast and cheap internet connection almost everywhere. Inconspicuously they’re embracing the tradition that would help them understand the true God we are worshiping—Christ Jesus but not as a mere “tradition” though. Hence, it is essential for us not to be passive and complacent with the current trend, rather, redeeming time is here, now in the 21st century, in Cambodia with Buddhist belief. Please stand with us in prayer that this time of the ...

Missions and Dara's Life! Dara Dou, 19 years old, is now at the university! After she passed the national grade 12 examinations, she has granted a scholarship to study in University of Battambang . Her parents are so happy that Dara made it this far. In her grandparent’s family, Dara is the first person graduated in high school. Thus, this is huge for Dara and her family. Dara is a responsible student, daughter, and a disciple of God who makes disciple as well. She has been leading the village ministry by herself.  Coaching and mentoring boosts her confidence to continue the ministry. In two months break she taught Bible among the bigger kids in the village daily on week days using the New Life in Christ, book that she got from our bible study years back. Now, her two siblings are serving the Lord alongside with her. God is raising more disciples to serve and worship HIM.  Praise the Lord! East meets west! T’was an encouraging experience to be shadowed by ...

Don’t Fret & Fear! (Psalms 37)  Three months ago, Sunday evening, I received a heart breaking news in my life—the sudden passing of my dearly mother due to cardiac arrest, six days before the mini English camp. I was preoccupied of the preparations in the center for the said event, plus on top of that was the fast approaching midterm examinations, sprouting staff prayer ministry in the center, bible study among two teachers, CSM Bible School, and village kids’ ministry are progressing. I couldn’t ask for more…these took me into a different level of faith, service, and obedience. Saturday morning, when BSOP team had its prayer fellowship and at the same time our official meeting for our upcoming home assignments. The team was giving objective suggestions what I could have done with my mother because they knew how I longed to spend quality time with my mother in my furlough this year. Thus, when they received the news about my mother the following day on Sunday late afte...

Erlyn Joy Solasco Looking Back :  When she was eight years old she told me not to get married and I asked her back, “Why?”Her answer was, “Because that’s what I want!” Oh boy, I was just smiling back then. Currently, she is on her third year at Baptist Theological College (BTC) and  passionate to obey God in missions  not because she’s being influenced by my life but because of God’s calling in her life too. Erlyn Joy is my niece, the daughter of my older sister, Marilyn. Pastor & Mrs. Solasco, Erlyn’s parents, planted a church. This is the daughter church of Calvary Baptist Church, my home church. Time flies indeed, a little girl is now 19 years of age, serving at Mandaue City Baptist Church (MCBC) under compassion ministries for three years in a row as part of her field studies in BTC on weekends. She works with young people; she is part of praise and worship team in the said ministry. She is gifted in music; plays several musical instruments since young and ...

The Joy of Obedience!

Jan 2 at 5:44  PM Blessed 2016! The Joy of Obedience! This past year, the Lord has been insistent with me through a good discipline of reading His Word three times in a row. He has been dealing with me about obedience; He is calling me to a deeper place of obedience.  A deeper study of His Word, a greater dependence on the Holy Spirit, a richer fellowship with His presence in prayer, and a sweeter years with family (though thousands of miles away), ministry, and colleagues. Praise and glory to God alone! My soul is passionate in sharing the Gospel, His gift. I am rejoicing that God is giving me instructions to obey.  “ I rejoice in following your statues as one rejoices in great riches.” - -Psalm 119:14. Indeed, there is delight in doing God’s will.  Joy in surrendering to His commands is surely a gift. Chantha and her daughter happy with their new bike! This joy of obedience radiates to these mother and daughter who walk t...
