Christmas is fast approaching, Cambodians are receptive to the message it brings! Praise the Lord! I am surprise! More Christmas decors are hanging in the stores, Christmas trees are displayed in different establishments whether public or private. Manger scenes are set outside hotels as part of their creative displays. Well lighted streets & trees…this is the moment that we have to seize! Modern technology has a significant effect in the life of Buddhist people here in Cambodia. They have fast and cheap internet connection almost everywhere. Inconspicuously they’re embracing the tradition that would help them understand the true God we are worshiping—Christ Jesus but not as a mere “tradition” though. Hence, it is essential for us not to be passive and complacent with the current trend, rather, redeeming time is here, now in the 21st century, in Cambodia with Buddhist belief.

Please stand with us in prayer that this time of the year will be more powerful and Christ centered celebration! Still majority of Cambodians think that Jesus or Christmas is for foreigners. Nevertheless, everyone is getting excited and anticipating this huge celebration at the center! Students are busy with their different presentations: Nativity scene from Anlongvil village kids, Kindergarten song interpretations and dance number from LOHI students, Pastors will be alternatively sharing God’s hope, speak the truth, show love and salvation throughout the whole program of Christmas Carnival on the 24, Saturday from 9am to 5pm.  Thank you! May Christ be made known into many hearts in this season.

Merry Christmas to you!

In Christ,
Mary Jane G. Aragon
