The Joy of Obedience!
Blessed 2016!
The Joy of Obedience!
This past year, the Lord has been insistent with me through a good discipline of reading His Word three times in a row. He has been dealing with me about obedience; He is calling me to a deeper place of obedience. A deeper study of His Word, a greater dependence on the Holy Spirit, a richer fellowship with His presence in prayer, and a sweeter years with family (though thousands of miles away), ministry, and colleagues. Praise and glory to God alone! My soul is passionate in sharing the Gospel, His gift. I am rejoicing that God is giving me instructions to obey. “I rejoice in following your statues as one rejoices in great riches.”--Psalm 119:14. Indeed, there is delight in doing God’s will. Joy in surrendering to His commands is surely a gift.
Chantha and her daughter happy with their new bike!
This joy of obedience radiates to these mother and daughter who walk to school under the scorching heat of the sun every single day. They longed for a bicycle for quite some time, however, as a single mother with a sickly mom to look after is not easy. After praying and saving, God answered our prayer, we bought a bicycle! Chantha is our school’s cleaner. She loves the Lord! Always smiling while working and several times I saw her sharing Jesus to children and oftentimes she would ask to pray for her and her daughter. She prays to obey God in studying at Bible school here in LOHI center as well so she could serve God more fully. Praise the Lord!
Anlongvil village ministry celebrated Christmas and its 4th year anniversary last week with 70+ children and 20+ adults have enjoyed the food, gifts, and above all have heard the message of salvation in Christ Jesus. Praise the Lord for how He moved in this place and the lives of the children. Dara Dou, an spiritual daughter, has given her life in God through this ministry by untiringly teaching Sunday school consistently. Glory to God for the 15 boxes of Samaritan’s gifts, thus, each of two or three siblings had one box. The rests received some small packs of goodies. Glory to God for your faithful partnership and obedience to God in missions as the Gospel of Jesus has reached to different villages here in Battambang, Cambodia.
God is mighty to save (Zephaniah 3:17)! Sharing God’s message of hope and salvation to Beng Ampel village in Khmer language with adults’ people was one of the highlights in December. Majority was not believers yet and glory to God because many of them received the Lord Jesus as their Lord and Savior during the invitation. They stayed and asked to be prayed for with their family and physical concerns. Consequently, let’s rejoice and praise God for what He has done through the power of the Holy Spirit in convicting these villagers to repent and be reconciled to the Father.
This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24). Second Christmas Carnival at LOHI on December 26 was gladly attended by more than a thousand of students and parents. Different booths and presentations were given for one sole purpose; to share the message of Christ. Prior to this, LOHI staff and Kindergarten Christmas celebration celebrated on the 24th & 25th. Plaque of appreciations and gifts were received by those who served the Lord at the center for years, creative teachers, and village Pastors. The staffs indeed work hand in hand to achieve its goal and praise the Lord for what He accomplished in the celebration. Thus, joy is the byproduct of obedience to the Master Creator and it is a gift. Praise the Lord!
