Erlyn Joy Solasco
Looking Back: When she was eight years old she told me not to get married and I asked her back,
“Why?”Her answer was, “Because that’s what I want!” Oh boy, I was just smiling back then. Currently, she is on her third year at Baptist Theological College (BTC) and passionate to obey God in missions not because she’s being influenced by my life but because of God’s calling in her life too. Erlyn Joy is my niece, the daughter of my older sister, Marilyn. Pastor & Mrs. Solasco, Erlyn’s parents, planted a church. This is the daughter church of Calvary Baptist Church, my home church. Time flies indeed, a little girl is now 19 years of age, serving at Mandaue City Baptist Church (MCBC) under compassion ministries for three years in a row as part of her field studies in BTC on weekends. She works with young people; she is part of praise and worship team in the said ministry. She is gifted in music; plays several musical instruments since young and was part of a high school band in our town. She spent her summer last year in Davao at Community Resource Center (CRC) village literacy programs. Praise the Lord! Why, I am sharing these because I believe that she could make an impact here in Cambodia as well by God’s grace through her gifting and training as she is now part of BSOP/BTC field intern.
Looking Up: After praying for more workers to come specifically here in Cambodia few years ago, I praise the Lord that He has spoken to my niece as well and this is an answered prayer! God is working in an amazing way! His plan is so beautiful and yet challenging that requires faith and radical obedience. Trusting Him for provision as EJoy is praying and looking for partners who are willing to be part of God’s plan in her life and in reaching more Cambodians who are at risks.
Looking forward: This summer in 2016 Ejoy with the team are targeting to embark for short term missions. A team in Thailand and Ejoy in Battambang, Cambodia. Thank you for standing behind in prayer!
EJoy, attested where she inherited her love in music—my mother! EJoy took this photo recently before returning to BTC. PTL! I miss my mother!
With Prayer,
Mary Jane Aragon
