Faith under pressure is commendable because of His grace.
I have an important prayer request in regard to our Bible school student, Chantou. He is pastoring a church in a far distant village with his two kids, in Krochap Leu village, Pailin. He lost his small house to a fire and he was badly burned. We tried to help in any way we can when we visited and prayed for him at the hospital of Pailin province. His striving family is trying hard, he is faithful in serving the Lord; normally he brings his younger son, Vichet every time we have Bible school class every month. The older son is grade 3 at the age of 11, who got burned also on his leg. Chantou helped his two sons to escape from fire. We hope to help the older son who is "at risk" and prone to human trafficking in this very remote and poor area by bringing him to LOHI dormitory as the building is now ready to use to continue his studies. Chantou is by himself in taking care of his children.
By the way, Chantou’s prayer requests last month was the one I shared in my newsletter. He had the most heart-warming prayer requests among the students and now, he is under the heat of testing his faith. However, praise the Lord that upon our conversation at the hospital, Chantou told me that the accident has made his faith grow even more because of God’s grace. Though, still it is a puzzle to him why someone would splash gasoline at their house; an intention to harm them, yet we hope that his faith will outweigh the pain and scar on his body. In God’s timing restoration and total forgiveness will come. (Sorry, the pictures are gross to look at)
Thanksgiving:
ü Praise God Chantou’s growing faith amidst of pain.
ü Praise the Lord for His protection, I fell and was under my motorcycle last month and slightly hurt my left arm but I am well now.
ü Praise the Lord for the team of 3 young people with the Hicks from the US who helped us teaching both in English & Bible school classes, and painting murals at the new building for almost 7 weeks. They’re now home. They’re a blessing to ministry!
ü Praise the Lord for another opportunity to share His Word at the church last Sunday—focusing on surrendering to God. The church received God’s message with faith through a SURRENDERED life of Abraham in Genesis 22. Glory to God alone!
Prayer & Petition:
§ Pray for complete physical healing in Chantou’s body and emotional healing, so he could totally forgive the culprit of the accident. We plan to transfer him to another village for ministry.
§ Pray for tomorrow’s BSOP team’s meeting in the morning and LOHI leaders meeting later of the day. God’s wisdom and guidance as we plan for different schedules of ministries, government legal matters, and home assignments.
§ Pray for my sister-in-law, Norfely Aragon. She had an accident last month and her breasts were badly injured. The doctor in our town referred her to Cebu or Manila for thorough check up and lab tests. We pray for healing and that no operation is needed. My brother and Norfely traveled to Manila yesterday. Thank you so much!
May God’s grace, peace, and protection be with us all! Glory and honor to God alone.
In Christ,
Mary Jane G. Aragon
