T3+T10
Be thankful. God has commanded it—for our good and for His glory. Thaibodia Training Trek (T3) went great last July until August 10 and I celebrated my Thankful 10 years in Cambodia as well. God is great and good as always. Praise the Lord!
I was assigned in Pakkret, outskirts of Bangkok, to help out the new Santisuk center. This branch is eighteen months old with three staff. They are working hard to have more students. When I was there, the students brought their food from home to the center just to have fellowship with us, teachers and staff. I felt loved. God is Sovereign; I knew that I was celebrating that day my 10th year in Cambodia, though I was in Thailand.
In addition, this location of Pakkret Nonthaburi is a bit layback province as restaurants and stores close early. Consequently, we often have 7/11 takeout for dinner which was just fine because we don’t have this kind of convenience store in Cambodia. An approximate of 4 km. walk to school daily back and forth from the house we stayed for a month had definitely boosted our energy.
Almost all the students at Pakkret know each other and they became close to me as there are only less than twenty. We went out together before the session ends with a student’ parents for an outing. It was a sweet scenery, having a family on that excursion day and they even brought their two cars for us to use.
Other privileges allowed by God when I was there were decorating the office and center’s lobby, helping in distributing fliers in the market and at the pier, a prayer walk in the area and teaching two classes. These were all God’s gift, serving Him in a new place and new people. My time there was maximized by the Lord as it was the prayer of my heart, to be of help where God puts me in. Moreover, my team won the Santisuk Friendship camp group games and talents presentations. What a fun bonus! We received a lot of biscuits and candies for a prize! That was fun! However, the most fulfilling reward we have is in heaven, something that we should be excited and be thankful for.
Furthermore, the students were requesting us, Rhesa and me (BSOP missionaries) to stay in Pakkret Santisuk center because they want to study with us more. The director and the staff have requested us to stay as well to help them with the ministry. Their vision is to plant a church with discipled members. God is evidently moving in Santisuk Pakkret in a very special way even though Jesus is still a foreign God to the students. Thus, my heart was filled with compassion in that place.
THANKSGIVING:
