Blessed Christmas! I am happy to be home with my family and my church in the Philippines this season. BSOP leaders debriefed and helped me with the ministry plans that I will be doing when I returned to Cambodia in February. In 2020 and beyond we will establish a network of multiplying Shine cell churches in northwest Cambodia with a VISION. We envision a network of cell churches that will multiply, producing more disciple-making cell churches throughout the region and nation. Matthew 28:19 Our MISSION is to in troduce Khmer people to God so they will meet, know, and love Jesus, becoming lifelong followers of Him, active in cell churches that are multiplying. Two Cambodian disciples will be part of the team Shine. Dara Dou and Singim are transformed individuals who are now good leaders. We are excited to continue making more disciples for the Lord Jesus. Please pray with us.   Dara Dou  and Singim Sa, my spiritual children  Last Saturd...

TIME A gift from LoHI of our 10 years, wooden map of Cambodia. God has reminded me of the importance of valuing time in understanding that God will judge the quality of every person’s life. I shared Ecclesiastes 12 at church Sunday worship this month. Seeing the lives of Cambodian young people become more receptive in the Gospel is encouraging yet we know that being young is exciting also, however, this excitement of youth can become a hindrance to closeness with God if it makes young people focus on passing pleasures instead of eternal values. Thus, what a great reminder it was for the church to live a life centered on God because it is truly fulfilling. Pray that these young people will continue to value their time, fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. Ecclesiastes 12:13. Pose after Sunday worship. Spending time with disciples and newly baptized believers before my home assignment is uplifting.   We shared our experien...

YIELD God is Sovereign and His miracle works in wills that are fully yielded to Him. We surrendered to God everything last week in prayer as we encountered the strong battle before the baptism. Satan was roaring loudly by creating fears in the hearts of the candidates for baptism and even causing physical harm. However, spiritual victory is sweet to experience when we chose to wrestle in faith and surrender everything to God in prayer.   Praise God for the 21 souls who followed Jesus in water baptism last Saturday.   They were: Singim, Panha, Kimseng, Sreymom, Danoch, Channan, Sreylin, Leapheng, Soury, Khun Neang, Srey Nich, Sky, Dynech, Dyno, Chanry, Reaksa, Theara, Sreyda, Sophak, and Vina. Sreymom, who expressed her fear came an hour before the baptism with a smile—“Teacher, I am ready!” Kimseng & Panha did not confirm immediately but gladly submitted to God 3 days before the schedule. Khun Neang had her grandmother brought to the hospi...

VISA Hurdles if faced as challenges or tests of faith will help us to focus on Jesus. This recently happened to me in changing my visa from gratis visa to e-business visa. Crossing the border of Cambodia and Thailand are extremely difficult. I was interrogated by Thai immigration after queueing for more than 3 hours and was hindered not to enter Thailand by land. My new passport has its firsts’ stamp—“canceled”. However, there was a tiny hope and that’s what I need. I was advised to fly instead. It was crucial for me to exit Cambodia in order to have a new visa and be able to extend for longer terms. Praise God I was scheduled immediately to fly as my visa was about to expire. Due to the canceled stamp in my passport, it created an issue to the immigration officers in Siem Reap, Cambodia airport. I was again interrogated but an “angel” came to my rescue. Another officer came and just by looking at my new and old passport understood the situation. He immediately ordered the fi...

DumnangLaorKampuchea/ GoodNewsCambodia          Bethlehem Star of Peace (BSoP) Mary Jane G. Aragon The life that counts blessings discovers its yielding more than it seems (By Ann Voskamp). Giving thanks to God not because of how I feel but because of who He is. Sharing His Word at church about the richness of God’s grace allowed me to have a deeper experience and understanding of how truly amazing is His grace on a personal level. The richness of God’s grace empowered everyone to do beyond limitations. The church was encouraged by His Word and so am I. Indeed before God can use us. He will use through us. Only by His grace. Sunday church worship after sharing His Word and a cake for Pastor Sophin’s birthday. Giving praise to God for what He has done in the lives of the Christian teachers in Battambang. Cambodia Teachers Community (CTC) had its first Self Care Retreat in June at YWAM.   Working together with...

CHANGED LIVES If a word of encouragement from a teacher to a student can change a life. How much more the Word of God that is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12 PANHA & KIMSENG after the Discovery class, happy with chocolates. From hopeless to hopeful , an amazing life transformation of Panha and Kimseng. Is Jesus really God? One of the questions they have asked. These two were my former students in English but now working at the center as teachers also. It was in June 2018 when I approached them to be in a Discovery class. They were adamant not to study, however, because of God’s mercy and prayer they have started to study every Tuesday & Thursday. When the lessons reached to the supernatural birth of Jesus, His death, and resurrection, the spiritual battle was so real.   There was no single class tha...
