Seize the Season
“ making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:16
Every season is a God-given opportunity, so seize the
moment with zeal and gratitude.
Shine’s Christmas celebration highlight was one person came
to receive the Lord Jesus as His Savior and God. Sopheak finally believes
Jesus! It was a divine appointment. That night it was not his schedule to study
Bible, but Lida’s. However, he came and joined the class, and at the end of the
lesson, Sopheak put his faith in the Lord. Now, our Christmas celebration was
more meaningful as Sopheak understood the true message of Christmas. Sopheak,
Lyna, and Daneth danced interpreted the song, It’s About the Cross. Moreover, more
people came unexpectedly. Everyone made a commitment to the Lord as
individually lit their candle with a prayer.
Traveling to distant places to share the Reason for the
season is no longer new. We drove our motorcycles for four hours to share the
message of Christ Jesus in the Moung Rousey district. Grandmothers, widows,
teens, and children were delighted to hear the Gospel of hope. Lida, one of our
Bible students at Shine with her mother invited me to share at their village.
It was a great opportunity to talk to Lida’s father who is an unbeliever.
Lida’s prayer is for her father to know Jesus and we were happy that her father
was there and attended the celebration. Now, Lida’s father is starting to open
his heart as he is no longer objecting to Lida and her mother to worship Jesus.
Bora’s school is a 20- minute motorcycle drive away from Battambang town. A friend invited me to meet the principal of the school that later invited me to lead a Christmas celebration at her school. I prepared the program with Bora and three of our Shine students, performed a Christmas song interpretation. 90+ students with some parents in the community came. We distributed Christmas pamphlets and Bible stories in the Khmer language as part of the goodies that the students received. Now, a possible Saturday Bible study class might start in the school with Bora
Nika’s village with her parents, children, and some
relatives heard the Gospel of Jesus.
After the Christmas celebration, we went to Nika’s Uncle’s rice field
and Baptized Nika there at the pond. Nika was so delighted in testifying her
obedience to God through water baptism.
And she is now currently enrolled and studying hard at YWAM DTS. She’s
happy that it was to her advantage that she studied important theology at
Shine. Glory and honor to God the Father
alone.
Please
pray for:
1. Spiritual growth of Sopheak and his obedience to Jesus.
2. Bora’s school and possible opportunity to share the
Gospel.
3. Shine intentional discipleship and growing cell group
ministry.
4. Intimacy with God in His Word and in prayer this 2022;
memorizing Scripture with disciples.
5. House contract, I need to meet the village chieftain for
seal. God's favor.
Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season;
correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
2 Timothy 4:2
My great gratitude for your faithful partnership throughout these years in sharing the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the kingdom of wonders, Cambodia. What a blessed opportunity we have in Jesus!
