aMa(y)zing GOD
Therefore, my dear brothers and
sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the
work of the Lord, because you know that
your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58
Investing life in a few is our intentional
discipleship Shine ministry goal. Singim, Vina, and Sreynoch are the Cambodian
professionals I am spending time with, not only in learning the Bible but also
in listening to them and helping them grow in their line of work as NGO staff.
***Singim’s confidence in leading activities at work (CGI Green Mango), taking essential parts in our cell group, and discipling others are delightful to uphold. God is at work and using Singim's weakness to show His limitless power. When she was in university and my level 7 English student in 2014, she preferred to sit at the back and was always quiet and shy. Among her batch, the Holy Spirit led me to pray for her and spend time with her, until she agreed to study Bible. Praise the Lord. Singim is now a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.
***Vina’s commitment to serving the Lord is
radiating. She chose to teach in the Sunday school in May, July, and November,
and she’s giving her best. She wants to honor the Lord with her time in leading
kid's ministry at the two villages and she is also leading our Sunday Ushers
group. Vina’s servant leadership is God’s beautiful gift, and she is grateful
for the opportunities to serve the Lord. Vina is the Freedoms’ Promise Battambang NGO secretary, praying for her family to know
Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
***Sreynoch was my English student and became a
part-time Cambodia School for Missions (CSM) student. She lived at Marlene’s
Home and had worked at the same organization for a short period, during her
university days. Currently, she is working at CGI Green Mango as a social
worker. Sreynoch loves the Lord, she wants to know God more. Sreynoch is one of
our church worship song leaders. This month, she was assigned to share a
testimony on our Friday worship at CGI. She applied the truth from the Bible,
and her confidence to be God’s mouthpiece was shining. Glory is all His.
Shine cell group thrives and praises the Lord for His work even in those silent moments with our old and new contacts. Sreylis returned with a classmate from her university class after almost a year of quietness. Essa, a new student of our intentional disciplehip class is also attending with her boyfriend, Somphors. God is amazingly working in our midst.
Somphor in a red shirt, gladly took this selfie photo with the rest of us grinning with sweet smiles.Shine Cell Group worship and fellowship.
