Growing in Christ, Living for His Glory
Teaching — Growing Together
By God’s grace, our LOHI Teacher Training on Work Ethics went very well, with 12 teachers participating. Most were believers, so it was a wonderful opportunity to remind one another that our responsibility and professionalism as teachers should flow from our obedience to God.
The unbelieving teachers also heard about the importance of depending on the Holy Spirit as we seek to do our work well. It was especially meaningful for me to facilitate the training because some of the teachers were my former colleagues. As I prepared the materials, I realized again that I am also still learning and growing. We are all growing—not only as teachers, but also as servants of God.

Class
As students learn about God’s creation, humanity’s sinfulness, the Gospel, and His plan of salvation, some are gradually discovering who Jesus truly is. After six months of Bible study, Vary took a significant step of faith by receiving Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. I was moved to tears as we prayed together—a precious moment that reminded me that every step in a person’s spiritual journey matters.
The journey was not easy. The
spiritual battle felt intense, and I was physically unwell for a week,
experiencing fever and headaches shortly after Vary decided to follow
Christ. Yet, even in the midst of these struggles, we rejoice in the victory we
have in Christ Jesus! What a beautiful reminder of God’s sustaining grace and
faithfulness. Hallelujah! All glory belongs to God!
Preaching — God’s Word Continues
At WABC’s Sunday worship, I preached from Romans 8 on
the theme, “No Condemnation, No Separation in Christ
Jesus.” Because it was a doctrinal and theological message and
I was preaching in Khmer, I especially asked the Lord for wisdom and clarity.
I surrendered the message to the Holy Spirit and trusted Him to speak through His Word. What a joy to see that God’s living Word continued to be proclaimed even during the recent flooding in Battambang.
At CGI Friday Worship, staff and students were also encouraged to draw closer to Jesus through prayer and worship. My prayer is that they will continue seeking Him and growing in their relationship with Christ.
Discipleship — Disciples Making Disciples
One of the greatest joys of ministry is seeing people I
have discipled begin to disciple others. By the Lord’s grace, “making
disciples who make disciples” continues to grow.
Singim is intentionally spending time discipling Komnut and helping her walk in her new faith. Seeing them together at cell group and church is such an encouragement.
Leakhena continues sharing the Gospel through her campus
ministry. Even while waiting for a permanent work opportunity with her husband,
she continues meeting university contacts in coffee shops and looking for
opportunities to share Jesus. Her faithfulness encourages me deeply.
I am thankful that God is raising Cambodian disciples
who desire to make disciples for His glory.
I spent three days with Kanhchany at her workplace and ministry in Poipet, near the Thailand-Cambodia border. It was a joy to see her ministry expanding. As Freedom’s Promise NGO country director, she carries great responsibility and faithfully uses every opportunity to help her staff grow in Christ. During staff devotion, I witnessed their desire to know Jesus more and obey Him faithfully. They shared how the fear and shelling during last year’s war strengthened their faith and dependence on God.
We also praise God for Srey Ourn, Im’s sister, who recently decided to follow Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She had remembered Joshua 1:9 for many years, but she did not yet understand who Jesus was. During Friday Worship, she surrendered her life to Christ. Now she is studying the Bible with me and praying to grow in her new faith.
God’s mercy reaches people in His perfect
timing. What a privilege to witness His grace at work!
Outreach — Showing the Love of Jesus
God continues to open opportunities to share Christ with
CGI staff, CTC students, and their families.
One experience last month especially touched my heart.
We visited Phau, the mother of Pisey
and Samnung, because she had not been feeling well for some time. CGI staff
shared the Gospel with her and prayed for her. Later, Noch (CGI Social Worker)
and I visited her again. We shared the love of Jesus, and she welcomed us to
pray for her. Afterward, she smiled so brightly.
A few days later, her children told me that their mother wanted to go to church on Sunday. Sadly, she passed away suddenly on Saturday night.
Her unexpected death brought deep sorrow to the family. We grieve with them, but we also continue to pray that God will use even this painful season to draw her children closer to Himself. We pray that Pisey’s siblings will come to know the saving grace, comfort, and hope found in Jesus Christ.
Sometimes ministry means celebrating joyful beginnings;
other times it means simply sitting with people in their sorrow. In
both, we are reminded of Jesus' compassionate heart.
Thanksgiving
- Srey
Ourn and Vary’s decision to follow Jesus Christ.
- Continued
intentional discipleship with Im, Kunthea, Rany, Mak Ya,
Mak Chan, Mie Oun, and Toch.
- Our
one-year visa approval! This year’s renewal process was
challenging as government requirements became stricter for the BSOP Team
Cambodia. But God was faithful through every step. Victory
belongs to Christ, and all glory belongs to God alone!
- Thanks to God for His protection, though we experienced severe flooding in the province for more than a week, we are all safe.
- The road leading to the ministry area was flooded.
- The road leading to my BSOP team’s apartment was flooded, so Pastor Sophin rescued them by car before the water rose too high. Thankfully, my team was able to stay with me in my apartment. My team brought some of their belongings to my apartment. I thank God that my area was spared from the flooding.
Please Pray With Us
- For the
spiritual growth of Srey Ourn, Im, Kunthea, Komnut,
Kimheak, and Rany, and for the salvation of the CTC
students, especially Vary who recently believed the Lord Jesus
Christ as her Lord and Savior.
- For the BSOP
Team Cambodia Annual Field Council Meeting, October 22–27,
as we evaluate, pray, and plan for the ministry ahead.
- For my three-month
Home Assignment in the Philippines beginning next month—for
good health, favorable weather, provision, protection, and a truly restful
and fruitful time with family, church, supporters, and friends.
- I was down
with a fever, headaches, and a cough for a week, but praise God, I’m feeling
much better! I continue to pray for complete healing and trust in His
grace and strength.
Thank you for continuing to stand with me through your
prayers, encouragement, and partnership. I am continually reminded that I do
not serve alone. Your prayers are part of what God is using here in Cambodia.
Through every season—whether in teaching, preaching,
discipleship, outreach, celebration, or sorrow—God remains faithful.
His mercy is new every morning, His grace is sufficient, and His Gospel
continues to transform lives.
May we continue to grow in Christ and live for His glory.
